Road work scheduled for I-95, I-16 ramps
Expect detours beginning March 30

The Georgia Department of Transportation has scheduled the following temporary lane and ramp closures on I-95 southbound to I-16 eastbound and I-16 westbound to I-95 southbound, starting nightly from 10 p.m until 4 a.m., Monday March 30, through March 31.

Georgia DOT crews will perform maintenance and improvement work on the ramps, and anticipate the project lasting two days. This is the first phase of a four phase maintenance operation.

Alternate detour routes for this closure will be posted, they are:

· Traffic heading in the southbound direction on I-95 exiting onto I-16 eastbound will be detoured to I-95 southbound to SR 204 (exit 94).

· Traffic will then proceed east on SR 204 to the on ramp to I-95 northbound.

· Traffic will continue north and exit on I-16 eastbound.

· Traffic heading in the I-16 westbound direction to I-95 southbound will be detoured to I-16 westbound to Pooler Parkway (exit 155)

· Traffic will then proceed south on Pooler Parkway to the ramp to I-16 eastbound.

· Traffic will continue east on I-16 to the ramp to I-95 southbound.

And:

The DOT has scheduled the following temporary lane and ramp closures on I-95 northbound to I-16 westbound and I-16 eastbound to I-95 northbound, starting nightly from 10 p.m until 4 a.m., Tuesday March 31 through April 1.

Georgia DOT crews will perform maintenance and improvement work on the ramps, and anticipate the project lasting two days.

Alternate detour routes for this closure will be posted, they are:

· Traffic heading in the northbound direction on I-95 exiting onto I-16 westbound will be detoured to US 80 (exit 102).

- Traffic will then proceed west on US 80 to the on ramp to I-95 southbound.

· Traffic will continue south and exit on I-16 westbound.

· Traffic heading in the I-16 eastbound direction to I-95 northbound will be detoured to I-16 eastbound to Dean Forest Road/State Route 307 (exit 160)

· Traffic will then proceed north on SR 307 to the ramp to I-16 westbound.

· Traffic will continue west on I-16 to the ramp to I-95 northbound.

Signs and message boards will be posted. Motorists are advised to use extra caution in construction work zones.

Georgia 511 is a free phone service that provides real-time traffic and travel information statewide, such as traffic conditions, incidents, lane closures, and delays due to inclement weather.
