The Georgia Highway Contractors Association (GHCA) is sponsoring a job fair in the Savannah area for those interested in a road construction career. The fair will take place Friday, April 5 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force, 175 Bourne Ave. in Pooler.

Southeast Georgia highway contractors are participating in the job fair as they gear up for their busy season which beings in spring with the onset of warmer temperatures. Contractors are currently hiring men and women for a range of construction job types and experience levels. A heavy equipment simulator will be onsite for those wanting to experience what it is like to operate a piece of heavy equipment.

The job fair is being held as part of the GHCA Fast Lane to Jobs campaign which is helping to raise awareness about the need for highway construction workers throughout the state.
