Richmond Hill Middle School is the state winner in the 13th annual Samsung Solve For Tomorrow STEM contest, the company announced Friday.
The school will receive a prize package of $12,000 or more for its entry. The school's STEAM students are developing "Safe Sleep, a wearable device to help soldiers or others with PTSD," according to the announcement.
STEM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering and math.
RHMS is one of 50 teams in the U.S. to advance to the national competition.
