Richmond Hill High School earns statewide recognition
RHHS

Richmond Hill High School has long been recognized as one of, if not the best, public high schools in Coastal Georgia and the state and this was further reinforced by an honor the school received recently from the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement for its academic growth and development.

Richmond Hill High School received the Gold Greatest Gains Award from GOSA, according to Principal Bivins Miller. Richmond Hill was one of 19 schools statewide to earn the honor placing it among the top three percent of all Georgia public schools for academic growth.

“This is exciting news,” Miller said. “We are beyond proud of this recognition as it is a direct reflection of the hard work and commitment by our students, staff and stakeholders in Richmond Hill.

“Being one of the only 19 schools in the state to receive the Gold Status recognition is truly an honor.”

The Gold status distinction, per GOSA, celebrates schools that go above and beyond in helping students make exceptional progress year over year.

“Earning Gold means RHHS is just not meeting expectations but it’s leading the way in student achievement and educational excellence across the state,” Miller said.

Richmond Hill is scheduled to move into a new school this fall in a facility that will be state of the art in all aspects, especially in technology, which will only enhance academic opportunities for students and faculty alike.
