Relays for Life net thousands for fight against cancer
Relay-7

Organizers of the Richmond Hill and North Bryan Relay for Life events have deemed each a success. The North Bryan Relay took place April 17 and pulled in $43,000 – just shy of the $50,000 goal. The April 24th RH Relay raked in close to $80,000. The jury is still out on final tallies as fundraising events are ongoing as teams try to reach their respective goals.

In North Bryan, Faith Harvest Sanctuary got best display for their “Shining Moments on the Silver Screen” set-up, complete with a red carpet, popcorn and ticket booths and church-goers dressed like classic movie stars. The Relay Gourmet Award, for best food concessions, went to First Baptist Church of Pembroke.

In Richmond Hill, RHMS took top prize for their military-themed “Mission Possible: Destroying Cancer” display. Relay Gourmet went to Bubba Love Bugs of Richmond Hill PALS.
