At the request of Georgia Central Railroad, the Georgia Department of Transportation announces a 3-day road closure in conjunction with railroad crossing improvements on SR 67 in Pembroke. SR 67 will be closed at the railroad crossing and traffic detoured beginning 8 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 28 continuing through 5 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 30.

Georgia DOT maintenance crews will install the road closure with a detour in place, as vehicular traffic cannot cross the railroad tracks during this work.  The roadway will reopen early if the work is completed ahead of schedule or could possibly be closed longer if weather delays the work.
Motorists will be able to access businesses, schools, and residences in the area up to work zone.

The detour routes will be signed as follows:
Northbound: Traffic traveling north on SR 67 will detour west onto E Railroad Street, then turn right onto SR 119.  Traffic will travel 0.04 miles on SR 119 to SR 30, then turn right and travel 0.05 miles to SR 67 where the detour ends.

Southbound: Traffic traveling south on SR 67 will detour west onto SR 30.  Traffic will travel 0.05 miles on SR 30 to SR 119, then turn left and travel 0.04 miles to East Railroad Street, then turn  left.  Traffic will travel 0.05 miles to SR 67 where the detour ends.
