A vehicle fire near Ellabell Friday night that left one person dead is being investigated by local and state authorities.

Special Agent Bill Bodrey of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said that members of his agency were called in to assist the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office with their investigation. The fire occurred around 11:30 p.m. Friday behind the Olive Branch Baptist Church located on Olive Branch Road. Authorities found a deceased person inside the vehicle.

Investigators are still at the scene at this time.
