Soldier killed in one-car crash

A Fort Stewart soldier, identified as Matthew Caron, 28, was killed Sunday in Savannah when his 2014 BMW overturned.
According to a press report by the Chatham Metropolitan Police Department, just before 11:30 p.m., Metro officers were called to Chief O.F. Love and Basin roads, were they found Caron, in the overturned car in the road. According to the release, Caron was driving south when he drove off of the road and hit a concrete barrier.
The vehicle went into a ditch, flipped and hit a tree. The vehicle stopped facing north on the east side of the roadway.
