The following is from Bryan County Sheriff’s reports:
Theft by taking
May 28 – A Guyton man reported his non-working pick up truck stolen after seeing it pass by on a trailer being pulled by a larger truck on I-16. The man told deputies he thought the truck looked like his when it passed and then got home and realized the truck was in fact missing from the yard. After making several phone calls, deputies learned that the man had just recently moved out of the house where the truck had been. The landlord told deputies that the new tenants had the truck removed from the property.
Criminal trespass
June 1 – Deputies responded to a home on Daniel Siding Road in Richmond Hill, where a man found damage to his boat kept in the backyard. The man told deputies he went outside to replace the cover on the boat when he discovered all the control cables and gas line to the motor of the boat had been cut. He said it also looked like someone had attempted to remove the motor.
Burglary
June 3 – A resident of Ashbranch Road in Pembroke reported that a 50-inch plasma TV had been stolen from his house. The man told deputies that he had not stayed at the residence in the last couple of days, but this particular day he rode by and noticed the side door was open. Deputy Dan Whaley observed the window in the side door had been pushed out of its frame and the door had been pried open with a tool. The offender appeared to have exited through a back sliding door with the TV, as tire tracks showed that a vehicle had been pulled up to the back door.
