Man dies in accident involving Pembroke woman

The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team responded to a wreck in the 500 block of Fort Argyle Road that claimed the life of a Portal resident Saturday night.

About 9:45 p.m., Charles Edward Wright was riding on a 2004 Honda CRF 70F dirt bike.

At the same time and location, Karsyn K. Davis of Pembroke was driving a 2001 Chrysler Town and Country. Wright, 48, and Davis, 28, were traveling west toward Bush Road when Davis’ vehicle struck the back of Wright’s dirt bike. Wright was thrown from his vehicle and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Wright’s dirt bike was not equipped with headlights and taillights. Wright was not wearing a helmet.

No other injuries were reported. This is an ongoing investigation of Savannah-Chatham Metro Police.
