Members of the Bryan County and Pembroke fire departments visited children in the Head Start program Oct. 12 to talk to them about fire safety and teach them that firefighters are friendly.

“Country,” the firefighter clown, aka Jason Blalock, was on hand to make friends with the kids. He dressed in full protective gear and then dressed down to his street clothes to show the group he was friendly.
