SAVANNAH — An Ellabell woman received serious injuries Wednesday after she drove a pickup into the path of a truck.

Cindy Miles Taylor, 47, was transported to Memorial University Medical Center after the 1:53 p.m. crash on the 1500 block of Dean Forest Road, according to Savannah-Chatham Metro Police. A passenger in her vehicle received minor injuries but refused medical treatment.

Police said Taylor was driving a 2000 GMC Sierra that was exiting a truck stop when she pulled into the path of a 2006 Peterbilt tractor traveling in the right, northbound lane of Dean Forest Road. The driver of the tractor, Michael David Tomlinson, 38, of Guyton, was uninjured.

Savannah Metro’s Major Accident investigation Team (MAIT) continues to investigate the collision.
