An Ellabell man was arrested on drug charges after telling undercover narcotics agents he was getting ready to cook meth.

Carl Drass, 42, of Queens Way Drive was charged July 21 with numerous felonies, including the sale of a controlled substance and manufacturing methamphetamine, according to a press release from the Chatham-Savannah Counter Narcotics Team.

“CNT agents working in an undercover capacity, obtained methamphetamine from Drass, at which time agents learned Drass was preparing to cook additional meth,” CNT Agent Gene Harley said. “Not allowing Drass to start the cooking process, agents executed the search warrant resulting in the seizure of items commonly used in meth (labs).”

According to the release, Drass was taken to the Bryan County Detention Center, where he was later released on bail.

The July 21 meth lab bust was the second in less than two weeks. Undercover CNT agents arrested Ray Bobby Creel Jr., 51, of Savannah and Robert Stegins Jr., 35, of Bloomingdale on Monday while the men were in the process of cooking meth at a Fort Argyle Road residence in Chatham County.

Additionally, police are on the lookout for Dustan Jeff Lax, 36, of Garden City and an unidentified female who fled an Old Louisville Road residence there after a meth lab exploded.

Lax is currently wanted by CNT for manufacturing methamphetamine. He is described as a 6-foot, 3-inch, 250-pound white male with brown hair and brown eyes.
