Donations made be made at The Heritage Bank under the name Melony Warren Koskela.

A man was found dead in an Ellabell home destroyed by fire Sunday morning, authorities said.

Bryan County Sheriff’s Office Detective Donnie Thompson said fire units were called out to a structure fire at 140 Arden Loop Road at 12:37 a.m.

When firefighters arrived, the mobile home was engulfed in flames. Thompson said he received a call around 3:45 a.m. about a body found in the home.

When Thompson arrived, the body, identified as Robert Sam Warren, 52, was discovered in what appeared to be the living room area of the mobile home.

The body was to be taken to the GBI Crime lab in Savannah to determine the cause of death. The state fire marshal is also investigating.

The family has established a fund to help pay for funeral costs. Donations may be made online at www.gofundme.com/axwvcay4 or at any branch of The Heritage Bank under “Sam Warren Memorial Fund.”
