Agencies spread word about dangers of sleeping with children

DECATUR — Public awareness of sleep-related infant deaths in is critical in preventing these deaths, the GBI reports.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation, in collaboration with the Department of Public Health and the Division of Family and Children Services hope to raise awareness about the dangers of co-sleeping.

Annually, more than 100 infant deaths are categorized as “sleep-related” in Georgia.

The GBI, DPH, and DFCS have released a public service announcement, “Saving Georgia’s Children — a guide to safe sleeping practices.”
