Parker's convenience/food services store recently donated $7,500 to Bryan County Schools as part of the company’s Fueling the Community program, which donates one cent of every gallon of gas sold on the first Wednesday of each month to local schools.

The check presentation took place at the Bryan County Board of Education building on Oct. 7. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Paul Brooksher accepted the donation on behalf of the school district. The donation is part of nearly $150,000 Parker’s is donating to schools in Georgia and South Carolina this fall.

"At Parker’s, we believe education is the tide that floats all ships,” said Parker’s founder and CEO Greg Parker. “Education is a conduit of opportunity, encouraging today’s students to become tomorrow’s community leaders. I’m deeply honored to make this donation, especially during these unprecedented times, and to continue to support student success right here in Bryan County.”

Launched in 2011 with a mission to give back to every community where Parker’s does business, to date, Parker’s has donated more than $1 million to area schools through the program.
