Honored guests speak recently during an MLK Planning Committee meeting.

The VFW of Bryan County was the honored guest at a recent MLK Planning Committee meeting.

The evening included a dinner, sponsored by Southern Image Restaurant, while committee members, veterans and their families enjoyed a relaxing evening of food and fellowship.

Past presidents of the VFW were the featured guests, and Unity in the Community board member Minister Marco George spoke.

Never far from the focus was working together to make the first MLK parade in Richmond Hill a great success.

The next event to support and promote the parade will be a Christmas musical at 5 p.m. Dec. 8 at Restoration Worship Center in Richmond Hill. At 8 p.m. Chop It Up Barbershop will host an open mic event in partnership with Spitfire Poetry Group.
