A developer has pulled a rezoning request for a 240-lot, 272.5 acre subdivision off Carlos Cowart Road and Highway 204 in Ellabell.

Bryan County Administrator Ben Taylor said Beacon Builders, Inc., is waiting until the county’s comprehensive plan is amended before moving forward on the request to build what is being called Plum Creek. 

A smaller development by Beacon Builders off Wilma Edward Roads in Ellabell called Mill Creek is still before Bryan County’s Planning and Zoning Commission, Taylor said.

Both developments were tabled at Tuesday’s P&Z meeting in Pembroke. The Mill Creek subdivision rezoning request apparently will be held at a later date. 

Residents have expressed opposition to the developments.
