Ronald Murphy, who qualified Monday to fill a seat left vacant by the death of his brother, pulled out of the Richmond Hill City Council race on Thursday.
Kristi Cox, director of Bryan County's United Way office, threw her hat into the ring, according to Dawnne Greene.
The other candidates are Rick Fitzer, Wayne Jackson, John Ring, Darryl Lawrence and David London.
Qualifying ends at 4:30 p.m.
The election is March 19. Candidates are seeking to fill the seat of former councilman and mayor pro tem Johnny Murphy, who died Dec. 19.
