Bryan County NAACP will host its 2nd Annual Golf Scholarship Tournament on Friday, May 5 at the Richmond Hill Golf Club located at 53 Sterling Links Way.
The Richmond Hill Golf Club is an exceptional course, which balances form and function perfectly and was designed by local lover of golf Ben McMillan.
The beauty, variety, and adventure that golf course architecture provides is the form, while playability, walkability and challenge provide the function. More than just another golf course, Richmond Hill Golf Club’s winding paths explore the creative side of one’s ability and offer the thrill of accomplishment.
Tournament proceeds support the BCNAACP Higher Education Scholarships which were developed to assist highly motivated, intrinsically driven students who strive for academic and community excellence. Based on the number of applicants, BCNAACP will award scholarships of up to $2000 to high school seniors attending Richmond Hill High School and Bryan County High School graduating in the 2022-2023 school year.
Students with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.50 based on the 4.0 grading scale may apply.
Last year the NAACP awarded 11 scholarships, ranging from $500 to $2000, totaling $16,750, to seniors graduating from Richmond Hill High School and Bryan County High School. The goal for 2023 is to increase the number of scholarships awarded and the award amounts. A variety of sponsorship opportunities are available ranging from $5000 to $150.
