Military graduates

Navy: Navy Seaman Recruit Joseph A. Webb, a 2012 graduate of Bryan County High School of Pembroke, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

During the eight-week program, Webb completed a variety of training, which included practical instruction on naval customs, shipboard and aircraft safety, and more.

Webb is the son of Kimberley K. Gillespie of Ellabell.

Marines: Pvt. Dennis D. Sylvester, son of Sheron Downie of Ellabell, earned the title of U.S. Marine after graduating recently from recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, S. C.

For 13 weeks, Sylvester stayed committed during some of the world's most demanding entry-level military training. Training subjects included close-order drill, marksmanship with an M-16A4 rifle, physical fitness, martial arts, swimming, military history, customs and courtesies.

Sylvester is a 2012 graduate of Windsor Forest High School of Savannah.
