Wreaths for Warriors Walk held its 10th annual wreath-laying ceremony Saturday under sunny skies before an estimated 300 people at Fort Stewart’s Cottrell Field.

Among that number were approximately 150 family members of soldiers killed in recent wars.

There are 468 trees at Warriors Walk, each symbolizing a 3rd Infantry Division soldier killed in combat. Some family members traveled hundreds of miles to be at the ceremony, which is entirely for the famileies, organizers say.

"The holidays are difficult for all of us," said Bruce Muncher, co-founder of Wreaths For Warriors Walk. "We all think of our losses that have occurred over the year. These families, and the way their loved ones were lost, in battle, serving our country, they share a common bond. We just want to let them know their loved ones are not forgotten at the holidays, or any time."
