Fort Stewart’s 3rd Infantry Division will get a new deputy commanding general-maneuver later this year.

Brig. Gen. James Blackburn will replace Brig. Gen John Hort as DCG-maneuver.

Hort will be moving to a new assignment in Germany. Blackburn, whose military career began in 1986, is an armor officer and graduate of the University of Pittsburg.

He is currently serving as deputy commander for separates, International Security Assistance Force Joint Command, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.
