The city of Richmond Hill now has a new city manager after the city council unanimously approved Chris Lovell to fill the position at Tuesday's regularly scheduled meeting.

Lovell, a lifelong Richmond Hill resident, is a former president of the Richmond Hill Bank. He cited his knowledge and experience with finance and growth as reasons he'd like to serve as the city's manager.

Lovell was selected out of three candidates, including current city clerk Ursula Lee and Savannah resident Nathan Mai-Lombardo, for the position.

With his new title as Richmond Hill city manager, Lovell fills the position left vacant in Januaray when former city manager Mike Melton's contract was declared null and void.
