Wednesday night crash on 16 under investigation
Cracked windshield

Authorities are reportedly investigating the fiery Wednesday night crash between two tractor trailers on I-16 at the Bryan and Effingham county line.

The crash killed one man, and one of the two trucks involved caught fire. After firefighters put that fire out, the truck, which was carrying a load of rubber tires, was towed to Pembroke, where the fire apparently rekindled Thursday and required crews from the Pembroke Fire Department and several surrounding agencies to get it extinguished.

The Georgia State Patrol’s Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team, or SCRT, is reportedly investigating.
