Update: Three injured in crash on post
No fatalities, LifeStar air medivac called in

Three  people were injured in a multiple vehicle accident around 2:30 p.m. today on Highway 144 East on Fort Stewart after a head-on collision earlier this afternoon. One person was air lifted to Memorial Medical Center in Savannah and two were taken to Winn Army Community Hospital, according to Fort Stewart public affairs officer Maj. Matthew Fontaine.

The wreck occured around 2:30 p.m. near Holbrook Pond, according to a press release.

Richmond Hill Fire Chief Ralph Catlett said his department was called to provide mutual aid by helping extricate a victim from one of the vehicles and also help prepare a landing zone for LifeStar.

The extent of the injuries are unknown.

One civilian vehicle, two military HUMMVs and a government vehicle were involved in the wreck.
