Richmond Hill Montessori held its 3rd Annual Superhero for Heroes event Friday to honor the memory of 9-11 and raise money for the Georgia Child Care Association’s Early Education Advocacy Fund and The Matthew Freeman Project.
Named for Richmond Hill resident Capt. Matthew Freeman, the project fosters the memory of military heroes by funding scholarships and providing custom-sewn teddy bears made from the uniforms of fallen soldiers for their families.
The school said it exceeded its fundraising goal of $3,500 and is still accepting donations.
