The release from Tavio's campaign is below:
Savannah GA. – Today Marc Anthony Smith endorsed Amy Tavio for Congress in District 1. “I am proud to endorse Amy Tavio for Congress and I ask those who voted for me to do the same,” said Marc Anthony Smith. Marc Anthony Smith came in a close third place in the primary in May. “Amy Tavio best reflects the district’s values and has the best shot at turning District 1 into a Democratic seat in November,” said Smith. “I look forward to joining her on the campaign trail in the few weeks leading to the Primary Run-off. She will make Washington work,” said Smith. For the first time in 22 years, Georgia’s First Congressional District is an open seat. After redistricting, District 1 is solidly in position for a Democratic Party pick-up. After a very heated Georgia Primary, newcomer, Amy Tavio led the pack of three. Tavio now advances to the Run-off Election set for July 22nd against Brian Reese. “I am thankful for Marc Smith and his endorsement,” said Amy Tavio. “I am proud to call him a friend, sharing his passion and commitment to care for our children, seniors, and veterans, and look forward to campaigning with him,” said Tavio.
