The importance of the special purpose local option sales tax and its use in Bryan County is a “no brainer.”
That was the message Wednesday from Ray Pittman, the local SPLOST Advisory Committee chairman, to the North Bryan Chamber of Commerce at its monthly lunch in Pembroke.
Pittman told chamber members that past SPLOST dollars had helped fund the building they were in, the Dixie Harn Community Center, along with improvements to the county courthouse, Hendrix Park and more.
Ballots are currently being cast for the countywide special election on SPLOST during the early voting period that runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday through Nov. 2 at the Voter Registration Office in Pembroke or the County Administrative Complex in Richmond Hill.
