A hunting accident near Brooklet Saturday took the life of a Pembroke man, said Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson.

Georgia Department of Natural Resources Critical Instant Response Team (CIRT) members are still investigating the death of Mitchell Swint, 57, of  Pembroke, said DNR Sgt. William Vickers.

Bulloch County EMS was dispatched to the Arcola Hunting Club on Railroad Bed Road, near Roberson Road in Brooklet around 11:25 a.m., Anderson said.

"Deputies secured the scene ... and the victim was transported to East Georgia Regional Medical Center... where he was pronounced deceased," he said.

Vickers said Swint "was hit by buckshot in multiple areas of his body."
