Paving work along Highway 204 this week will require lane closures in Chatham County.

Contractors for the Georgia DOT will be installing temporary lane closures with reduced speed limits on Highway 204 between Pine Grove Road and King George Boulevard in Chatham County.

These lane closures are required for the paving operations scheduled eastbound from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Tuesday, and westbound from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. All work is weather contingent.

Motorists are advised to reduce speeds as they travel through this and all work zones. Message signs, barrels and/or cones will be utilized to alert motorists of the upcoming changes. Drivers should be aware that personnel and equipment will be operating in close proximity to travel lanes.
