Heat advisory issued for Bryan County

The National Weather Service in Charleston, S.C., has issued a heat advisory for inland Bryan County from noon to 8 p.m. today.

Heat index values are expected to reach between 105 and 110 degrees. Values will be locally higher for brief periods over coastal counties as the humidity increases with the passage of a late day sea breeze.

Limit outdoor activities to avoid heat-related illness.

A heat advisory means a period of hot temperatures is expeced. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a sitution in which heat-related illnesses are possible.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioning, stay out of the sunshine and check on neighbors and relatives.
