A gas leak near the old Bryan County Courthouse Annex building off of Highway 144 Thursday caused eastbound traffic to be detoured around the incident.

According to Joseph Forlenza with the Richmond Hill Fire Department, around 11:30 a.m. construction workers struck a gas line near the building.

Forlenza said no injuries have been reported. Atlanta Gas Light has been called to repair the damage, he said, but gave no time frame as to when the situation may be cleared.
