Fish Tales buys Fort McAllister Marina

Fish Tales restaurant and the adjacent Fort McAllister Marina are one in the same in many people’s minds, and now they are legally, too.

Butch Broome, owner of Fish Tales, has purchased the marina.

“This was just a natural progression,” Broome said. “We’ve been running the marina for about three years and they go hand in hand, so it made sense.”

According to paper work filed with the Bryan County Clerk of Courts, Ogeechee River Investors LLC sold the property to Pima Investors LLC for $2.78 million on Aug. 19.

“This gives us control over the entire property and gives us more space,” Broome said.

The sale also includes a building across the street from the restaurant, which Broome said will give him more office and storage space.

“We have a whole laundry list of projects and upgrades in mind,” Broome said. “One of the first things is to redo the main pier.”
