A woman on Lewis Drive alerted the Richmond Hill Police Department Monday after she saw a briefcase that did not belong to her in her recycling bin.

Police Chief Billy Reynolds said the Chatham County bomb squad was called to the scene as a precaution. Officers then found paperwork inside the briefcase and were able to contact the owner. The man indicated he lives on Fort Stewart but had been in Richmond Hill and said the briefcase must have been stolen from his vehicle.
