Barbecue, summertime tea, cake and ice cream danced on the taste buds of Bryan County Family Connection members Thursday as they celebrated the organization’s 10th birthday at J. Dixie Harn Community Center in Pembroke.
The group marked a decade of service to Bryan County with a genuine birthday party, including balloons, confetti and gifts. Wendy Sims, BCFC director, recognized numerous members for their contributions to the organization, and each attendee got a party favor bag of candy and other goodies.
Through its 10 years, BCFC has helped countless members of the community, Sims said, and she’s pleased with the organization’s success.
“It’s been a long 10 years,” she said. “But I feel we’ve gotten a lot accomplished toward fulfilling our mission.”
