Local arbor day celebration

The City of Pembroke joined communities across Georgia in celebrating Arbor Day with a tree planting ceremony. During the ceremony two live oaks were planted at the entrances for the municipal parking lot in downtown Pembroke. Above: Jason Lanier of Lanier Lawn Care, Inc. and Council members Tiffany Walraven, Angela Reed, Mayor Judy Cook and Councilman Tony Greeson plant one of two live oaks at the entrance to the downtown Pembroke Municipal Parking lot. More than 50 guests and visitors were on hand for the celebration. Sponsors of the event were Lanier Lawn Care, Farm Bureau, the Pembroke Garden Club, McDonalds, the Georgia Forestry, Wise Nursery, Tina Lanier of Owen Real Estate Group, The Brew Station and Heritage Bank.
