Heat and humidity in our area is going to make it seem like it is 105 degrees today, so the National Weather Service's Charleston Office has issued a heat advisory.

It will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The advisory means you should stay inside in air conditioning if you can. If you have to go outside take precautions.

It you must go outdoors, drink plenty of fluids, wear light weight clothing and stay out of the direct sun. If you can, reschedule strenuous activity to early in the morning or in the evening.

The weather service says the oppressive heat is likely to break Tuesday, when the high will be in the lower 90s. Wednesday's high will be in the upper 80s and that is expected to run through the work week.
