For the past 15-20 years, Ellis Phillips and a group of dedicated volunteers have generously served a free seafood lunch to law enforcement/first responders, the military, and senior citizens.

Such was the case Thursday as dozens gathered under the pavilion at J.F. Gregory Park to enjoy locally-caught seafood, home-cooked side dishes and desserts on a beautiful spring day.

Phillips is a proud veteran who says the event has one simple purpose. "It is in honor of the law enforcement and first responders and to show their appreciation for all they do in the community."
