Fort McAllister State Historic Park will host its annual candle lantern tour of the fort from 7-9 p.m. Oct. 13 at the park at 3894 Fort McAllister Road. The event is a rare opportunity to experience the fort at night with a guided candlelit tour.  

Living history programs will depict soldiers performing their evening duties and civilian life during the Civil War. Tours include a stop by the barracks for refreshments before being treated to an exclusive nighttime cannon firing.

The cost is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for children ages 6 and over. Children 5 and under are free.
