A deputy coroner of Bryan County was recently recognized as Deputy Coroner of the Year for the State of Georgia.

Tommy Perry Flanders, of Pembroke received the award during the 2019 Annual Conference of the Georgia Coroners Association.

Each year a deputy coroner is nominated by their peers for their outstanding service to their community and the Georgia Coroners Association.

Flanders has served as deputy coroner for Bryan County for over eight years, previously served Candler County for a combined 15 years and is presently serving as the District Director for the 29 counties that make up district 4.
