In a press release, Chris Raiford has announced that he is running for Bryan County’s Board of Commissioners District 3 seat. The position is currently held by Dallas Daniel.

“I am excited to announce my intention to run for Bryan County Commission District 3 this November,” said Raiford.

A University of Georgia alum, Raiford has been on the Richmond Hill Zoning and Planning committee for a little over three years and has served with several local community organizations for over a decade.

“While the growth of Bryan County is exciting, it brings challenges as well,” said Raiford. “I believe it is important to maintain balance between residential and commercial growth, while protecting our sense of community in a way where everyone benefits.  I think my prior experiences as a Planning and Zoning Commissioner provides a unique lens to this situation and I simply want to help.”

"As a county commissioner, I would be honored to contribute and collaborate with the other commissioners, other municipalities, and community members to address issues that arise in our county.”

In addition to his time on the Planning and Zoning commission, Raiford is also an active member of both the Exchange Club of Richmond Hill and Bryan County Recreation. Raiford and his wife Anza live in Richmond Hill and have three sons attending Bryan County schools.

“Growing up, my family was built on a foundation of civic service.  The idea of giving back to my community genuinely means something to me.  I feel fortunate to live in Bryan County and want to do everything I can to help our community face current challenges and opportunities we may see," said Raiford.
