ExperCare Urgent Care, which was founded in Richmond Hill in 2009, is opening its next location in Savannah this month, according to a news release.

The new clinic will be at Mall Boulevard and Hodgson Memorial Drive, next to Dick’s Sporting Goods in the Kroger Shopping Center. The new facility is expected to hire 20 employees.

Founded as the Urgent Care Center of Richmond Hill by Savannah native Catherine Corish Grant, along with partners Lori B. Gaylor and Robert A. Mazur, M.D., this is the first Savannah location for ExperCare Urgent Care.

Services that ExperCare offers include giving physicals and wellness checks, treating colds and flu, offering many vaccinations and providing X-rays, lab tests, EKGs, occupational medicine and specialty services.

“Since we are locally owned, we understand the community and are personally invested in its total well-being,” Grant said.

ExperCare Urgent Care is the only urgent care facility in the area to be certified by the Urgent Care Association of America.

Gaylor’s experience includes time at the Medical College of Georgia, where she focused on plastic and reconstructive surgery. She has also worked in the emergency departments at Charlotte Memorial Hospital in North Carolina and on Fort Stewart. Gaylor is a fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and has a master’s in physician-assistant studies with a pediatric focus from the University of Nebraska and Bachelor of Science in physician-assistant studies from the Medical College of Georgia.

Grant completed emergency medical training at Grady Hospital with additional training at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, and Emory Crawford-Long in Atlanta. She has worked in orthopedic surgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and urgent-care medicine.
In addition, she was associate clinical coordinator and a faculty instructor at South University. Grant has a Master of Science in physician-assistant studies from the Medical University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science in physician-assistant studies from South University.
