Prison recruiting guards

ATLANTA — The Georgia Department of Labor will host a recruitment Friday to help the South Carolina Department of Corrections hire about 200 officers for its prison in Ridgeland.

The recruitment will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the GDOL’s Savannah Career Center, 5520 White Bluff Road.

Veterans are encouraged to apply. Salaries range from $25,561 to $28,438 annually, based on experience.
Applicants must be at least 21, have a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver’s license. Veterans should bring their DoD DD214 form.

The employers will conduct a pre-employment background and motor vehicle record check, drug screening test and physical fitness test for selected applicants.
