SNF Holding Company subsidiary Floquip Engineering Company, which manufactures water-soluble polymers and has a Riceboro operation, will expand its business in Liberty County.
SNF Floquip has acquired an 80,000-square-foot building in the Midway Industrial Park and initially will employ 50 workers at the facility with plans to increase to 100 workers within the next five years. Positions at the facility will include mechanical and electrical technicians, welders and technical support. The average wage will be approximately $20 per hour.
“We are pleased SNF Floquip has decided to expand its operations in Liberty County,” said Allen Brown, chairman of the Liberty County Development Authority. “SNF is our largest industrial employer in Liberty County with almost 1,000 employees, and we are glad the company’s operations, like SNF Floquip, are continuing to grow.”
At the Midway Industrial Park facility, SNF Floquip will customize equipment for its customers in the oil sands and enhanced oil recovery markets. The units weigh 125,000 pounds on average and are transported to SNF Floquip’s customers on tractor-trailers.
“By operating out of the facility in the Midway Industrial Park, we will be able to increase our production 240 percent,” SNF Floquip Engineering Manager Joe Banasik said. “Our company has a long-standing relationship with Liberty County, and we are thrilled with the acquisition of the facility in the Midway Industrial Park because the building is in close proximity to SNF’s primary manufacturing operations in Riceboro.”
SNF Floquip officials hope to be fully operational in the Midway Industrial Park facility by the end of the month.
