Members of the Pembroke Downtown Development Authority and city-council members helped Carla’s Furniture and Gifts owner Carla Nelson, center, cut the ribbon on her new store Monday morning. Among those who attended the ribbon cutting were DDA board members Laverne Scott and Doyce Mullis, DDA head Sharroll Fanslau, and Pembroke Councilwoman Tiffany Walraven and Mayor Mary Warnell.
