The Hinesville post office has received notice from the USPS recently that its automated postal center is targeted for removal because it doesn’t get enough business.
The automated postal center is a self-service machine that looks up ZIP codes, weighs packages and dispenses postage.
In its notification, the U.S. Postal Service has said the machine isn’t recording the kind of use the postal service expects. The center will be monitored for 30 to 60 days, according to the notice, to determine whether the community uses it enough. If not, the APC will be moved to another city.
