Bryan County News names community-relations director

Sue Nelson has been named the community-relations director for the Bryan County News.

In this capacity, Nelson will act as the News’ community liaison, representing the newspaper at civic and cultural events. She also will aid the News’ marketing and promotion efforts, develop and drive new promotions to increase revenue and audience and offer advice on making the newspaper operate more efficiently, among other duties.

Nelson was named the retail-advertising manager for the News and Coastal Courier of Hinesville, both of which are owned by Morris Multimedia Inc., in October 2012. In August 2015, she became a regional digital specialist for Advanced Media Solutions, the digital branch of Morris Multimedia, where she trains sales staffs and educates advertisers on digital-advertising offerings. Her region covers a number of publications in southeast Georgia, including the News.

“I am thrilled to be back in Richmond Hill working closely with the community and local businesses that I’ve grown so fond of over the past few years,” Nelson said. “The Richmond Hill community, along with the outer areas of Bryan County, have become very special places to me. Since hometown businesses are really the lifeblood of great communities, I look forward to continuing to assist our local businesses flourish through the utilization of our many services.”

Nelson, a Savannah native and a graduate of Savannah Christian Preparatory School, attended Georgia Southern University, Armstrong Atlantic State University and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. She lives in Savannah with her daughter, Hannah.
