SAVANNAH — Kroger customers and associates throughout the Savannah area donated more than $19,200 to the Second Harvest Coastal Georgia Food Bank to help replenish their pantry after the collapse of its freezer roof over Labor Day weekend.  
“We are grateful to our Kroger customers and associates who contributed to this important cause,” Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger’s Atlanta Division, said. “These generous donations will help the Second Harvest Coastal Georgia Food Bank continue their mission to feed and support individuals and families in need.”
From Sept. 10-21, Savannah-area Kroger customers were able to “Round Up” their purchases to the nearest dollar, with proceeds benefitting the Second Harvest Coastal Georgia Food Bank.
Donations from Kroger’s “Round-Up” effort will help rebuild stock and replace more than 1,000 pounds of spoiled food contents.
