Local detectives are saying Hinesville resident Danta Chatman, 21, burglarized eight homes in South Bryan County.

He was arrested Dec. 4 in Long County and is facing nearly 40 charges of burglarizing homes in Bryan, Liberty and Long counties.

"This clears up many of the current burglaries in South Bryan, but it is not cause for residents to put their guard down," BCSD Det. Mickey Sands said. "The holidays are what I call stealing season. This wraps up round one, but I expect more to come."

Chatman was reportedly arrested after leading police on a 20-mile car chase and crashing his truck.
